Planning your trip to Jerusalem
Climate and seasons
Jerusalem has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters. Nearly all of its annual 590 mm of precipitation falls between October and April, with numerous clear and sunny days in between. Because of its elevation, its air is less humid and more pleasant than in most other parts of Israel.
Getting around
The light rail has eased what used to be slow, clogged roads, but where it does not go travel may still be slow. Cabs are plentiful; insist that the driver turns on the meter (moneh), because some try the scenic route or a fixed price. The Gett smartphone app is an option.
