Climate and seasons
Victoria Falls is open year-round, but the experience differs by season. In the rainy season (November to March) the water volume is higher and the Falls more dramatic, though the spray can obscure the view and you are guaranteed to get wet. In the dry season (April to October) the volume is lower, giving a clearer view of the rock ledge below, and by October the Falls might be just a trickle.
Getting around
Walking is manageable if you stay in the downtown hotels or some of the budget places just outside it; most places are no more than 3 km from Victoria Falls. Some hotels are not really in town but have their own transfer services. Cabs are plentiful.
Staying safe
Tourist police in yellow vests are plentiful around the town and the falls and can be trusted. Touts are aggressive and best avoided; they keep a distance from the tourist police.
