Planning your trip to Casablanca

Getting around

Streets mostly have signs. The Medina can be hard to navigate, but it is so small that you are never more than ten minutes from an exit. Casablanca is one of two Moroccan cities with a tram.

Staying safe

Common sense solves most problems: do not flash large amounts of cash. Fake guides are much less of a problem than in the rest of Morocco and are mainly around the Old Medina. It is inadvisable to walk alone at night. Women should dress modestly to avoid harassment, which is almost always lewd comments. Pickpocketing and moto drive-by theft are more of a problem here, so hide your valuables.
