Taxis are readily available and rates are negotiable. There are many car rental agencies in Los Cabos. The "Cabo Loop" is a 320 km paved ride from Cabo San Lucas through San José del Cabo, Los Barriles and Todos Santos and back.
Staying safe
Do not walk at the water's edge on the Pacific side: it is very treacherous and huge waves can come ashore with little or no notice, and the danger extends to all south-facing beaches. Avoid back alleyways, especially at night, watch for pickpockets in nightlife areas, and accept rides only from licensed taxi drivers.
