Getting around
Walking is a great way to get around the Old Town because its layout is compact, but be careful of uneven cobblestones and narrow streets. Côte de la Montagne is a steep, winding street linking Upper Town and Lower Town, and the Funiculaire also connects them; it is worthwhile with small children or large packages.
Staying safe
Crime in Quebec City is rare, but take the usual precautions and safeguard your possessions. Be more cautious at night, when there may be drunk bar patrons and people who prey on those unfamiliar with the city.
